ISNetworld® (ISN®) is an online contractor management database created for the purpose of streamlining companies’ and contractors’ prequalification process. Major companies such as CN, CP, Fortis BC, Pembina often use the ISN to establish the “trustworthy” status of a new vendor. As a service contractor member, Absolute Space is now poised for more technically challenging assignments.
Absolute Space is pleased to support Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) Canada, an international body for the sport of competitive sailing and is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of rating and classification standards used to define offshore yacht racing handicap categories.
ORC-Canada wrote – “We would like to announce ORC-Canada’s first industry sponsor – Absolute Space. Absolute Space offers advanced laser scanning for high definition modelling, documentation and surveying. One of the requirements for getting an ORC certificate is to have a hull file for the boat. While ORC maintains an extensive database of hull files, there may be times where there is no hull file or design file available. In this case, the only solution is to have the hull scanned.”

Absolute Space used a Leica P20 laser scanner to capture Robson Square in 3D. The laser measurements offered the exact dimensions of the venue, which event organizers used to design awnings, stages, seating, lighting, and fashion runways for the special event. Final products were delivered in REVIT and SketchUp formats. The sold-out event took place on Sept 16, 2015. Vancouver Sun News.
